I am a qualified psychotherapist and counsellor based in Welling, Kent situated on the border of south east London. I provide therapy/counselling for individuals and couples. I also provide supervision to other counsellors. My approach to therapy is to provide a respectful, confidential, non-judgemental space that enables the client to express their difficulties and challenges. Based on my experience, I am of the belief that clients should work at a pace that suits them. This will enable them face difficult issues which can lead to positive changes. I approach my clients with an attitude of acceptance and respectfulness and this helps to create a safe, secure space that enables free expression of personal difficulties or problems. My counselling/psychotherapy services are recognised by the UKCP and the BACP, which are the main regulatory bodies covering this profession.
My work includes, but is not limited to:
a) An exploration of how current problems may be connected to past relationships and events.
b) Exploring issues around anxiety and stress. Helping clients to address the causes of this can improve their quality of life and their potential to change. Kevin Spacey's statement in American Beauty: “it’s a great thing when you realise that you still have the ability to surprise yourself ", clarifies an engagement with life where change is integral to health.
As well as the above mentioned, I also have experience working with anger management, career issues, child related issues, low self-esteem, Post-traumatic stress disorder, stress and work related stress.
