Biography

My approach to working with clients is that of kindness and compassion. Central to my practice is fostering a therapeutic relationship with my clients and research has demonstrated that this is pivotal in achieving positive results. I strive to establish and maintain an open, genuine and non-judgemental relationship with my clients. This approach is beneficial in helping clients who experience a range of emotional and psychological difficulties. I have worked as a counsellor for a charity that provides emotional support for those affected by cancer. I also have experience working as a family counsellor with patients in palliative care. I have worked as a volunteer counsellor for a Christian charity providing counselling in the areas of relationships, bereavement, illness, stress, depression, childhood, faith and spiritual matters. I believe passionately in the value of counselling and I am fully committed to an ethical practice which continues my personal and professional development through ongoing regular psychotherapy and clinical supervision.

Approach to treatment

Just like there is synchronicity present in the four seasons, there is also an ebb and flow of synchronicity in our daily lives. It doesn't matter how old you are, the voice of synchronicity is often inviting us to new beginnings. All of us are unique and therefore synchronicity speaks out of each person’s own circumstances. Perhaps you are feeling overwhelmed or finding that your life is out of sync. It might be the result of a significant event - the death of a loved one, change or loss of employment, the diagnosis of a threatening illness, encountering difficult relationships or ordinary life circumstances can also be an invitation to discover who you really are. I invite you to share with me your unique story and I will provide you with a safe, therapeutic space to explore your beliefs, behaviours, thoughts and feelings and in the synchronicity of the therapeutic relationship discover who you are, where you come from and who you can possibly be.
