Biography


I have over fourteen years’ experience in the field of mental health. I am registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and I abide by their guidelines and code of conduct. I am a highly qualified bilingual psychotherapist and I am able to offer therapy in both English and Farsi. My approach to therapy is integrative which means I am able to utilise different approaches such as Humanistic, Psychoanalytic and Cognitive Behavioural. I am a Cognitive Behavioural therapist and I have extensive experience in treating depression, anxiety disorder, bereavement, OCD, phobia, stress, anger and violence. As a professional trainer, facilitator and presenter, I have been invited to speak at conferences and seminars all over the world. I have been involved in over one hundred mental health awareness training courses and workshops, lecturing to members of the public and other professionals. I have published many articles on social and mental health issues and of recent I translated and published Creature of a day, the most recent book by Professor Irvin Yalom. I am also involved in media therapy work including working with BBC Persian.

Approach to treatment

I am a specialist in Cognitive behavioural therapy. In addition to CBT I also provide Integrative therapy and Cross Cultural therapy. My approach to therapy is integrative which means I use an approach suited to each client. My role is to support the client through this process in a non- judgemental and non-prescriptive manner. I encourage clients to be autonomous and to discover their own strengths helping them to have the knowledge and internal resources to enable them to reach their full potential.
