I am a registered and accredited counsellor / psychotherapist with significant experience of helping people find ways of tackling current problems that may be causing emotional distress whilst also exploring and addressing deeper issues that may be behind unhelpful patterns of thought and behaviour.
Stressful experiences, unsatisfactory relationships or painful losses can sometimes drain our emotional resources to the point where we may struggle to cope. If you find yourself stressed, anxious, depressed or isolated, please contact me. I provide a confidential environment where you can feel safe in sharing your problems and worries and where we can work together either on a brief or longer term basis to identify a way forward through your challenges.
I have particular experience in helping clients work through interpersonal difficulties and conflicts in various contexts (family, couples, work & social), traumatic experiences, losses, addictions and personality disorders. I have helped clients deal with depression, anxiety, anger, obsessions, phobias and panic which they may be experiencing as a result of their difficult experiences. Therapy with me involves an integrative approach which is adapted to your needs and is both reflective and active. This means at times I will encourage you to think deeply about various aspects of your difficulties and their particular meanings for you and at other times you will be invited to take a more active approach to practising different ways of being, thinking and responding. My background makes me well placed to work with the complexity of issues faced by minority clients especially those from South Asia and with clients who are contemplating or who have been through international relocations.
I speak English, French, Urdu and Hindi and follow the code of ethics and professional practice guidelines of my professional body, the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP).
