Biography

Prior to training as a counsellor in 2003, I worked in the corporate sector for many years. Despite having a secure role, I was searching for a career path that would be more meaningful and fulfilling. I always harboured an interest in the behavioural sciences and decided to pursue this after a friend encouraged me based on her experience of taking a course on the subject. My counselling experience has involved working with young people and adults struggling with substance misuse and homelessness. In addition to my work as a counsellor, I have an interest in the field of hypnotherapy. This interest developed after someone close to me experienced significant benefits after having a few courses of hypnotherapy. I subsequently trained as a hypnotherapist to enable me help others in a similar way to how my friend was helped. My approach to therapy is client focussed as I believe each client is unique and requires an individualised approach. I provide a caring, compassionate and safe environment and I strive to ensure my clients are aware of the counselling process. I regularly engage in continued professional development activities by attending courses and supervision to ensure that I provide the highest standard of psychotherapy available from both an ethical and professional perspective. I appreciate the fact that you have taken time to read my profile. Please feel free to message me if you need further clarification.
