I am an experienced counsellor/psychotherapist with over 16 years’ experience working in the National Health Service and within the police and prison services. I have also provided counselling to students in third level education. I adopt a flexible approach which means that I tailor my service to suit the needs of each individual client. I believe the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client is of utmost importance and as such I strive to build a warm, trusting, supportive and non-judgemental therapeutic relationship with my clients. I provide a safe environment within which we can explore difficult thoughts, feelings and experiences and through this process lay the foundation which will enable you make positive changes in your life. I have over sixteen years experience providing therapy for difficulties such as anxiety, adjustment reactions, bereavement, terminal illness, rape and sexual assault, childhood sexual abuse, abusive relationships, stress, depression, anxiety, relationship issues, fertility, financial worries, self-harm, substance abuse, issues with food, health anxiety, sexuality, transgender issues, workplace bullying, general life-evaluation and existential issues, trauma, driving anxiety, social anxiety, low self-esteem, carers’ responsibilities, perfectionism, disability related issues and anger.
