Step 1
Prior to your first nutritional therapy consultation, you will be prompted to complete a detailed health and lifestyle questionnaire and a food diary, so your therapist can get a good overall picture of your current health status, diet and lifestyle.
Step 2
The initial consultation will usually last for about 90 minutes, and your therapist will try to gather more information from you. You will most likely need to expand on certain parts of your questionnaire as well.
Step 3
Your therapist will devise a personalised and safe nutrition and health improvement plan that is evidence based, and tailored towards your very individual requirements. You may also be recommended supplements and/or functional tests if your therapist feels these could be beneficial.
Step 4
A follow up consultation is generally recommended for 3-4 weeks later when your progress and nutritional programme are reviewed. Your therapist may also correspond with you via e-mail or messages between sessions to monitor progress. Further follow-ups may be required depending on your individual situation and long term goals

I also have extensive experience in other areas indicated in my profile.

Tired? Stressed? Anxious? Energy dips? Digestive issues? Food intolerance? Increasingly, these issues are becoming the new normal, with many people tolerating the unpleasant and even debilitating effects on health when they shouldn't need to. As an experienced degree trained Nutritional Therapist (NT), I can offer effective and often straight forward solutions to manage these issues and improve your vitality, clarity, energy and confidence. We'll work together to formulate a practical nutrition plan and, combined with an understanding of suitable dietary choices and application, you will have a valuable tool for good health - for life. My experience in the field of NT is wide and I can also help with chronic illness such as Inflammatory Bowel Disease (Ulcerative Colitis and Crohns), female health specific such as PCOS, PMS, pregnancy and menopause and children's nutrition. I can arrange testing/analyses of test results with credible, reputable labs and I offer nutritional supplement advice if required. I am a parent of four children/young people aged 10-20 years.

Jo Rowkins

Specialist in Stress, hormonal, digestive, weight management, immunity, skin, female health, detoxification

I am experienced in helping clients with many different health issues, and I work successfully with stress-related conditions, weight management, digestive issues, female hormonal imbalances and many others conditions. I believe that finding balance is the key to optimum health. Often people force themselves to make healthy choices, get obsessed by a fad diet, or make a series of attempts at trying to get healthy, without finding the balance in their lifestyles that they are actually seeking. I'm interested in exploring as many aspects as possible to guide a client to that elusive place of balance. Giving yourself the gift of undivided time to consult with a nutrition and health professional allows you to shed light on your own habits, needs and health goals. I enjoy being able to facilitate and guide each client to a place of better health, vitality and balance. I am fascinated by the profound effect nutrition has on the body. When disease processes and imbalances have set-in, nutritional therapy can set you back on the path to health again by addressing underlying causes, rather than simply treating symptoms.

Nicola Shubrook

Specialist in stress, anxiety, depression, eating disorders, brain health and Alzheimer's prevention, IBS and digestive issues

Hello, I'm Nicola, a qualified nutritional therapist and I have a real passion for supporting individuals struggling with stress, anxiety, depression and eating disorders. Having spent over 15 years working in the media industry, and previously living on a diet of stress, caffeine and sugar, I fully understand the challenges that we face when working and trying to find balance. Whether you just want to eat healthier or need specific help to manage stress, sort digestive issues such as IBS and bloating, or perhaps feel you have 'brain fog' where your memory and concentration just don't seem to be what they were (a sign of stress!), then do get in touch and let's arrange an initial chat. I practice a functional medicine model, which means I am always looking at you as a whole and working to find the drivers of any health problems or concerns rather than just treating the symptoms. I write personal nutrition plans for each and every client, sometimes recommending supplements and additional testing, but I make sure that the plan is achievable and can fit around your everyday life. We all have enough to worry about! I will help you create healthier habits and become a happier, more balanced you. I look forward to working with you. Nicola

If we are all living longer, we need to be able to enjoy those years in the best health possible and this means eating the right foods at all stages of our life. Resolving health issues when young can help to prevent problems later in life. I have had a long career as a food writer and established cookbook author, and now as a fully qualified Nutritional Therapist, I consider healthy eating as the foundation for my clients programmes, to enable healing and promote well-being. As you are looking to improve your health, you may have digestive problems; IBS is a common condition in many; perhaps headaches or migraines are affecting your life; or maybe you are finding life too stressful and need strategies to cope. For weight gain I not only consider diet but look to other causes - could it be thyroid issues or adrenal fatigue? These are some of the areas I have expertise in and can help you with. My own health scare has been with breast cancer, and worryingly many women will find themselves affected with this at some point in their life. I have trained to help clients overcome their fears and support them with nutritional advice during and after treatment, and help to create integrative programmes with oncologists. I have always believed that what we eat has a direct impact on the ageing process and my mission is to help clients be as healthy as possible, and allow us to live life to the full for as long as possible. For further details please see www.nutritiondynamics.co.uk I look forward to working with you Lorna

Auriol Moores

Specialist in Gut Health supporting digestive issues including IBS; Nutrigenetics, Chronic Fatigue, Fibromylagia, Lack of Energy/Fatigue, Adrenal Health, Food Intolerances & Weight Loss

Hi there, It's a mine field trying to find the right support when you feel you've already been down every avenue and you're at your wits end. Or perhaps, you just don't want to go down the conventional route any longer? If this is the case then Nutritional intervention is without doubt the way to go. I am a Registered Nutritional Therapist with BANT (British Association for Applied Nutrition and Nutritional Therapy) and CNHC (Complimentary Natural Healthcare Council) and qualified in 2012. I use the 'Functional Medicine' approach which is about looking at the patient as an individual, considering the biochemical imbalances in the body and discovering the root cause of the problem, (rather than treating just the symptoms). We will work together in ensuring that we guide you back to optimum health and you will walk away with an optimum nutrition plan to follow. This may include a supplementation programme to support your health over a short period of time to get you back on the road to recovery. I also work with a number of Labs to offer diagnostic testing which is very helpful in determining what is going on in the body and being able to rule out certain 'conditions'. This includes blood, stool, saliva or urine samples. Nutrigenetics is the study of personalized nutrition based on your genetic make-up and I am a certified DNA Practitioner. With a simple non-invasive saliva swab we can look at your predisposition to possible health risks related to your specific genes. We can then make a holistic assessment of health risks, based on environmental factors (diet and lifestyle) that need to be considered. I have used this many times in my clinic, and my patients have found it very useful, particularly with weight management and overall health. I look forward to working with you :)
